It just takes a bit of time initially. For example, the Google spiders have already discovered over 4.5 billion sites and are contsantly indexing them, so by default new websites take time to be discovered. It can take between 3-5 months. It is the same for any new website.

The good news is that once discovered your website is indexed as often as once a day, with all your details being updated. So if any changes have been made they will appear in new searches.
